AGREED!

Oftentimes, it’s not that you don’t know. You know but you’re scared. 🫂

The fact that you are thinking of your next action means you’re not entirely lost, you’re at a crossroad.

Deep down you know you have choices, but these choices confuse you.

When you’re at a crossroad, you start by going deep, not by going all in.

Some people would distract themselves with action and end up doing a completely irrelevant thing – don’t do that.

When you’re literally lost, what do you do? You look back on the road where you came from, right?

You also start asking people around for directions.

You also try to look up your GPS. 🗺️

The best way to get started when you feel lost is by asking the right questions like:

1. Try to remember the things you have done and you’re grateful for. 🌿

List down as much as you can.

From the simplest things such as being able to breathe, wake, sleep, eat, live.

When we remember these things, we also remember how blessed we are without necessarily neglecting what we feel at the moment.

If you feel like giving up, then as ironic as it sounds, be grateful for your ability to feel.

Ability to feel both the good and bad.

Because ultimately, the ability to feel these things and think – are what makes US human.

Now you may say, but Dane, if I try to remember the things I have done or grateful for – I can’t find any.

I understand that especially when you’re in a not ideal place, it’s not easy to look back.

At one point though, we really have to start questioning the negative thoughts we have – not to invalidate them – but to recognise that our brain is ultimately wired to not second guess our thoughts.

Meaning, YOU must be the one training it to think how you want it to think.

By first acknowledging what you feel and then start really listing down the worst things that could possibly happen for that thing you fear to happen.

As you list it down and ham it up, you realise that most of it are really just the work of the mind, and you find ridiculousness in it and you laugh.

You recognise that the source of your suffering is in living in the future rather than the present.

You bring anxiety in advanced by thinking about the worst possible scenarios.

And however valid these scenarios are – thinking about it is different than thinking and then planning for it.

So I encourage you that if you must choose what to think, think of things that serve you – part of it is really having a hard look at the good things you’ve done or experienced that you’re grateful for – no matter how small or big – or important or irrelevant it is.

It matters to your mind, heart and soul.

2. List down the things that worked for you and the things that didn’t work quite well. 💭

This is not so you can start the blame game, but so you can contemplate on the things that served you and those that no longer serve you for your highest good.

What things, attitude, behavior, mindset, relationship, strategies that helped you get closer to your goals and ideal version of you?

Once you’ve written this, write down the same for the opposite.

When you write these things down and see it on a paper, you’ll naturally get an idea on the changes you’ll need to make to help you get back on track.

3. Check in with how you feel about those things 💖

Look closely where you are now.

How do you feel about you?

How do you feel about your relationships?

Your habits? Mindset?

What lights you up?

Feelings leave a trace if something is natural or forced.

While we don’t need to get caught in our feelings, acknowledging them rather than repressing them, help us feel better and once we feel better, it’s way easier to be in strategy and action.

Flowing in action and naturally manifesting the things that you aim for comes from aligned action.

And aligned action start when you let these feelings flow through you and listen to the wisdom they tell you.

4. Sit down and visualise 🧘

Now, take time to write down what your vision is.

Light up a candle, put on a good visualisation background music, sit down in a comfortable position and start imagining the life you want to live.

Do you remember the last time you imagined? When we were kids we used to do this all the time.

I remember whenever we are asked to sleep for siesta, I will only close my eyes and I start building my dream house and imagine what’s inside it.

This habit, skill or magic is lost when we grow old and get presented with reality.

But what is reality? Isn’t the present an illusion?

Isn’t the future not guaranteed?

If so, then win in your imagination!

Visualise the life you want!

Literally imagine, visualise, and write the future 5 years from now that you want to have.

(Check out my podcast episode in the caption to get guidance doing this).

Remember this is not the time to think whether things are possible or not, you just have to take time to let your mind run free and dream.

You are not lost, you’re wandering, exploring, testing things out.

You’re the one living your life and you get to define where you are – whether you’re lost or just exploring.
