It can get lonely when you’re building your side-hustle or business. Whether you’re introverted or extroverted, at a certain point, feeling lonely in the middle of a great fear can lead demotivation no matter how much we love that which we are building.
Here are 3 simple – no fluff, no BS – tips to help you get started or keep going!
1. Value clarity over mindless action 🎯
Trust me when I say humans overcomplicate things more than what’s needed – and that’s okay especially when you are starting.
When you’re starting to build, you brain goes in multiple directions as you ideate, visualize, dream, plan and strategise how you’d like to make it work.
However, some wanna-be-entrepreneurs will keep throwing content without even having a clarity on their values, vision, and end goal.
They’ll try all the things. Sign up to anything free to avoid extra costs. How do I know? Because I did.
The thing is it is totally fine to try everything and avoid paying for your self-education as an entrepreneur.
However, as with any investment, the return depends on how much you sow – and yes including money.
My business grew when I started investing money in it, not just free time. My rates grew when I went all in and put not only my heart and soul, but time, resources, and money.
When you get clear about what you really want to achieve – without getting caught on ‘how to do it’ – it’s much easier to move in your boldest self.
No, you don’t need a better color palette, or logo, or IG handle or domain name.
What you need is clarity of the overall vision, trust, being all in and putting in the action.
You need to get clear why you are creating content.
Few questions to ask yourself to get clarity whilst you’re being in action:
- From your skills and experience, what product or service can you serve and sell?
- Who do you want to serve?
- What 3 topics can you start talking about that comes naturally for you?
2. Prioritise messy action over perfection ⚡
Sometimes, clarity comes when you take imperfect action.
When I started creating content, I talked about topics that lit me up, tested a lot of things, and listened to my intuition and community – that’s when I was able to finalise my niche and products/service I need to offer.
Keep creating and delivering – test and see what work and what doesn’t work, not only for the community you are building, but also be mindful what works and what doesn’t work for YOU!
3. Consistency over intensity 📈
You don’t need to be always intense every single time you create content to promote your side-hustle or business, you only need to be consistent in the cadence that feels right for you.
Consistency looks different for everyone, which means, you get to define your own definition of it.
To some consistency means creating and publishing content everyday.
To others, it may mean every other day or once a week.
It’s yours to define.
Remember that YOUR OWN VISION motivates you more than anything.
Get excited about your future because, ultimately, as you keep working on it consciously, results have no option but to show up.
